ART DUBAI 2016
Artwin Gallery is taking part for the first time in the Art Dubai contemporary art fair. The gallery will present works by Olga Kiseleva and Olya Kreuther.
Olga Kiseleva
Artist Olga Kiseleva's approach to her work is more reminiscent of that of a scientist. The contradictions she identifies in this or that process or in this or that mechanism lead her to formulate a hypothesis, by means of which she tries to explain the phenomena she sees and, if possible, to find the right solutions. To this end, she defines the range of competencies required for research and guides the scientific process herself. In her work, Olga Kiseleva turns to the exact sciences, genetic biology, geophysics as well as the political and social sciences. She conducts scientific experiments, makes calculations and analyses, in strict compliance with the methods adopted in a particular scientific field. Thus, by using the purely scientific method, she tests and confirms her artistic hypothesis. Olga Kiseleva lives and works in Paris, France, and teaches her own course at the Sorbonne University.
Olga Kreutor
In her search for the ideal microcosm, Kreutor finds herself among the avant-garde seekers of a "new reality", arranged on the harmonious foundations of regular shapes and pure colour. At the same time the author goes beyond purely artistic constructions - into the territory of geometry and psychology. The movement towards the absolute is the vector that leads the artist into the space of avant-garde as a sphere of inner freedom. The presented series is one of the stages of this way. Olya Kreutor is a young Moscow artist, winner of the 2016 Kandinsky Prize in the Project of the Year category
