At Cosmoscow, ArtwinGallery presents a project-dialogue between Vladimir Chernyshev and Ustina Yakovleva, who are well known for reinterpreting traditional artistic practices through the prism of their unique authorial language and mythology.
The project was brought to life by the unique situation of the current year - when society was challenged to rethink most of the mechanisms of its functioning, from technological advances to the significance of unmediated communication. Basic values, skills and social institutions have come to the forefront of the international agenda for the first time in a long time, and against this background the appeal to explore manual, labour-intensive techniques in the field of contemporary art and the question of personal mythology and an interest in the archaic in the broad sense of the word become relevant again.
